Be the Wind, 2007
The line of the horizon divides the world in two; sky above, sea below; source light above, reflected light below. Xùn (breath, wind) above, Kǎn (water, darkness) below.
But we do not see water as darkness. We see its reflected light, the true nature of its depth hidden. Hence huàn— wind over water— translates to “dispersion” or “scattering”.
